Emily Coleman is an independent producer living by the sea. She works with The Future Is Unwritten as Producer with an emphasis on the strategic direction of the company and leading on the development of Still. Emily has delivered press and marketing for the TFIU tours. Emily is passionate about making shows for audiences who wouldn’t usually go to the theatre and enjoys working with Paul and Jackie to do this with TFIU.
Emily also runs Hijack, a festival and programme of work for children and has her own company Pebble Gorge which makes interactive experiences for families. She is also the Associate Producer for Spymonkey.
As well as producing shows, festivals and events Emily is also a founder of SOUPing, a model of working and advocacy group that builds knowledge, shares skills and encourages camaraderie amongst independent producers.
Emily works as press officer for Komedia, Brighton on an ongoing basis and has experience in venue management, marketing, front of house and box office from previous roles at Farnham Maltings and the Gardner Arts Centre. She was the original producer for Hannah Jane Walker and Chris Thorpe’s ‘The oh fuck moment’ in 2011 and for Bootworks Theatre and The Black Box which she toured across the UK and internationally between 2007 – 2010. She has toured with Stopgap Dance as Company Manager.
You can usually find Emily in a theatre or coffee shop in Brighton, unless she’s somewhere else.
